Board Committees
There are currently six Board Committees addressing important issues at the school. Join one of these groups to help establish the foundations of Stone Creek!
Accountability
The Accountability Committee is working on Policies that impact students, families, the Board and the overall operations of the school. Some of these can viewed on the Policy page of our website. As more Policies are drafted and approved by the Board, a school handbook will become available. This Committee also oversees Surveys that take place at the school to solicit input and feedback from parents, students and the staff. To sign-up or learn more about the Accountability Committee, contact Ron Wolfe.
Communications and Outreach (C &O)
The C & O Committee works to tell a compelling and consistent story about Stone Creek School with all target groups including the school community, potential students, the media, educational organizations, Eagle County and Colorado. Through our school story, we will attract and recruit a diverse and exceptional student body, solicit the support of parents, create a positive image in the community, lay the groundwork for fundraising, and establish Stone Creek as one of the greatest schools in Colorado. Committe responsibilities include: Branding, Newsletters, Website, Advertising, PR, Outreach and Open Houses. Individuals with writing, graphic design and web skills are encouraged to join this committe and all others are welcome. To sign-up or learn more about the C & O Committee, contact Cynthia Forstmann.
Facilities
The Facilities Committee is tackling two important areas -- correcting issues at our current building, and finding a permanent location for our school! In the Spring of 2007, the Town of Avon agreed to a three-year lease at Yoder Avenue. The Facilities Committee is working on the where, when, how and how much associated with our move before the end of the lease. Knowledge of real estate, mortgage, finance, and construction are helpful to this team. To sign-up or learn more about the Facilities Committee, contact Kurt Forstmann.
Finance
The Finance Committee is repsonsible for the Operating Budget of the school. That role includes developing the Operating Budget and the accounting against the budget. This Committee also oversees relationships with lenders and is active in identifying financial partnerships to create a better position for the school. Fiance also particiaptes in any discussions that impact our overall financial picture. To sign-up or learn more about the Finance Committee, contact Amy Gill.
Fundraising
Fundraising is a vital activity at Stone Creek -- to make-up for shortfalls in Charter School funding for Operations and Programs, to establish funds to pay off debts incurred in our start-up, and to put dollars towards our future school site and faciltiy. We have established a Fundraising Calendar to provide families with a sense of "what's coming" and to make sure school fundraisers do not conflict with PTO fundraisers. To sign-up or learn more about our Fundraising Programs and the Committee, contact Laurie Liddick.
Human Resources
Staffing, payroll, benefits administration, insurance, contracts, PERA, and more are managed by the Human Resource Committee. This committee plays a particularly important role as the school is still establishing policies and procedures. Anyone with a background in human resources, employment law, or management is strongly encouraged to become involved. To learn more about the Human Resources Committee, contact Toni McCabe.
Technology
Establishing a roadmap for Technology is key to our success as a school, as well as the success of our students. The Technology Committee handles operational IT issues -- such as our network, Internet connectivity, computers, and compliance --to keep the business of the school running. It also oversees programming for students and families, including Power School, laptops, and the interface of technology in the classroom. To sign-up or learn more about the Technology Committee, contact Kevin Kromer.
