Stone Creek Students Score Above State Averages on all CSAP tests in all grades!
Curriculum
At Stone Creek Charter School, we believe that every child who walks through our doors has the opportunity for greatness. Our academic programs are among the most rigorous in Colorado. What makes Stone Creek different? It's the way we teach our children.
Core Knowledge
Core Knowledge encompasses language arts, mathematics, science, history, geography, fine arts, and physical education based on the work of E. D. Hirsch, Jr. The curriculum is characterized by knowledge that is:
Solid -- Lasting, unchanging, knowledge such as important events of world history;
Sequenced -- A planned progression building on students' previous knowledge and eliminating excessive repetition and gaps. The core content is organized to spiral through the grade levels, becoming more sophisticated and dedicated in each successive grade;
Specific -- Clearly defined knowledge at each grade level ensuring fairness to all students;
Shared -- Providing all students, regardless of background, with the shared knowledge they need to assure later educational success and a confidence in belonging to our national literate culture.
