The 13th Annual Jog-A-Thon is scheduled for Friday, October 12!
More details to come...
Each year, Stone Creek Charter School holds our annual Jog-A-Thon in the fall. While this is great exercise and so much fun for the kids, it is also our largest fundraiser. We work towards 100% student participation as this is the only fundraiser where the students of Stone Creek Charter School can personally make a HUGE difference.
HOW JOG-A-THON WORKS
Between the beginning of September and the day of the Jog-A-Thon, the students ask friends and family to support their efforts with either flat or 'per lap' donations. The students run as many laps as they can in 15-30 minutes depending on the age of the student. We estimate that most children run between 20-40 laps each.
*It is against our charter school contract for students to solicit door-to-door donations from strangers.* Pledge requests should only be made to close friends and family members. We ask families to help the children with this task to ensure their safety while gathering pledges. We currently use the 99Pledges website as our vehicle for donations. Each student receives a personal email from 99Pledges that includes a student link that they can send to family and friends worldwide. Once a donation has been made to a student's page, he or she will be able to instantly track the pledges.
This is a FUN event where kids get dressed up and really show their spirit and personality. Kids from both campuses run together and it is a good opportunity to get to know their classmates from different campuses. We run rain or shine and have done both.
Prizes are awarded to students with the most laps, most pledges, 100% classroom participation, and to the class with the most spirit.
