Fundraising Overview
Stone Creek is a state charter school and receives $6,941/pupil from the state to operate. We pay $347/pupil to the Colorado Charter School Insitute as a management fee and miss out on other public funding because we operate outside of the Eagle County School system.
The net result is that we have less money to start. In fact, if you add our operating shortfalls to our construction costs and a restoration bond that is part of our lease with the Town of Avon, our total shortfall is close to $3,000 per student for the 2007-2008 school year.
This is where our Fundraising and Grant Writing Programs kick in. Fundraising is an imperative activity at Stone Creek in order to:
- Make up for per student funding differences
- Pay debts incurred in our start-up year
- Have resources for innovative programs, such as technology
- Attract the best teachers
- Establish a Capital Campaign Fund for our future school location and building
- And more
EVERY family should be active in at least one of our Fundraising Campaigns.
