1ST FRIDAY COIN COLLECTION
Happy February.  It is time to check the couch pillows, under the car-seats, and the laundry room for your spare change.  This Friday February 5th is the 1st Friday of the month.  See you in the carpool line for the 1st Friday Coin Collection.  


3rd GRADE BAKE SALE
Feb. 10th-12th, the 3rd graders will be having a bake sale to raise money for the relief efforts in Haiti.  All items sold will be $1. Baked items will be sold during a.m. recess and lunch recess.

Free tickets for the Vilar Saturday night, 2/06/10 at 6:30.  Your child may receive 2 free tickets to attend this wonderful concert (if you have 2 children then you would get 2 extra tickets).  Please contact me at jnelson@stonecreekschool.org no later than 4:00 on Thursday if you would like to advantage of this opportunity.  I will reserve the tickets in your child’s name and you may pick them up at Will Call.

ABOUT I MUSICI DE MONTREAL: Founded by cellist and conductor Yuli Turovsky, I Musici de Montréal is a chamber orchestra of 15 musicians that presents a vast repertoire extending from the baroque to the contemporary. The orchestra presents a busy schedule of over 100 concerts per season throughout the world including three prestigious series in Montreal. This extraordinary amount of activity places I Musici amongst the most important touring orchestras in Canada.

REPERTOIRE: Tchaikovsky – Souvenir de Florence Shostakovich – Chamber Symphony, op. 49 Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition with Choreographed Paintings (Projections) Special notes on the repertoire: Pictures at an Exhibition is performed before a large-screen projection of a new film created by painter Natasha Turovsky. Awarded an Excellence in Cinema Award at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (2007), she has recreated the lost paintings that inspired Mussorgsky’s work. Each one created to accompany the corresponding movements of the piece, the paintings have been digitized into melodic movement.

Please join the Headmaster, Board of Directors and Staff for a celebration on Feb. 3rd. from 6-7pm. Each class will be displaying special projects for parents. Mark your calendar for this family event and come celebrate your child's success in education at Stone Creek Charter School. There will be an Open House for perspective parents at 5:30, before the event. If you know of anyone that has an incoming kindergartener, please invite them. We look forward to seeing you there.

4th ANNUAL SCCS SPELLING BEE
The fourth annual spelling bee will be held on Friday February 5th at 8:30 in the cafeteria.  The top five spellers from third through eighth grade will be spelling for a chance to represent our school at the district spelling bee on February 13th.  Please come and support our students.  We also need a few volunteers to serve as judges for the event.  If you can help please contact Kathleen Mumaw 5th Grade Teacher.  Hope to see you there!!!

Dear Stone Creek Families
It is that time of year for re-enrollment. Re-enrollment forms have been sent home and it is available on the school website. Please return the form along with the $300 Material and Technology fee before February 5th. This fee secures your child’s  grade placement for the upcoming school year. Please call Carrie in the office if you have any further questions. Please see attachment for the re-enrollment form.
