Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Providence College in Rhode Island.

Experience:
I successfully completed the first semester of my student teaching in a second grade classroom.  Following second grade, I completed the special education portion of my student teaching in a kindergarten inclusion classroom.  I am now teaching first and second grade at the Gypsum campus.  I am so excited for this upcoming school year!

Strengths:
Hard work, patience, and passion for education are a few of my strengths.  I believe focusing on each child's individual needs helps students succeed and excel in school.  It is so important for me as a teacher to adapt my curriculum and lessons to meet each student's needs.

Personal:
I was born and raised on the East Coast in Freehold, New Jersey. After high school I left New Jersey and ventured up to Rhode Island where I studied education at Providence College.  I also had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Sydney, Australia which was truly a memorable experience.  In November of 2010, I moved to the Vail Valley and absolutely fell in love with Colorado.  I initially planned to move for one winter and I am still here enjoying every aspect of it!

Passion / Interests:
I grew up skiing and Irish Step Dancing which still remain passions of mine to this day.  I also have a true love for teaching, children, reading, traveling, hiking, the beach, dogs, and mountain biking.

Your Vision for SCCS:
My vision is that each child wakes up every morning and is so excited to come to SCSS and to embark on a new day of learning!
