Strengths:
I love history, science and the outdoors! I prefer that my students call me Josh. Good rapport with middle school aged children and relate well to boys. In depth knowledge of native plants as well as their historic uses as medicine, food and shelter.

Personal:
Born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. Moved to Vail in 2006. I have been a vegetarian for 3 1/2 years. Passionate about personal impact of food on the environment, indigenous cultures, and small farms. Girlfriend of 3 years, Hannah, works at the eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability, and the Vail Nature Center.

Passion / Interests:
Anything outside! Grew up rock climbing, hiking, camping, hunting and skiing. Loved being outside as a kid and still do as an adult. Can usually be found with my dog Denali.

Your Vision for SCCS Middle School:
My hope for SCCS is to bring a food production class to SCCS, where we would study the impacts of food production. This as well as growing food in a hydroponic greenhouse. Hydroponic food production can be the answer to the worsening starvation issues in the world, as it minimizes water usage. They
can also be installed anywhere including skyscraper roofs and sandy desserts. I would also like to share my deep interest in history.
