Strengths:
Developing a strong rapport with students and staff, passion for learning and exploring, encouraging critical thinking, thinking outside the box and allowing students to do the same, helping make learning a foreign language accessible (and fun!) for every student.
Personal:
I was born and raised in Colorado, and after many years of wandering, am happy to be home in the mountains. Before coming back, I lived in Spain and worked full-time in Morocco, leading intensive trips with students from the US, focusing on Islam and the West, immigration and trade policy, and the intersection of religion and politics. I also piloted a program at a 500 year-old farm in Southern Spain focused on sustainable and biodynamic agriculture. I have traveled extensively, living on four continents, and leading international trips in four countries.
Passion / Interests:
In my free time, I ski, raft, hike with my dog Gus, ride a little red horse, sing and play banjo. I love being in the wilderness, getting dirty, learning languages, and traveling.
Your Vision for SCCS:
I want to create a space where students can open themselves to the unknown and push themselves beyond what they thought possible, where they become critical thinkers and global citizens, and where they always have the opportunity to express their creativity and passion.
